The Night Agent's Gabriel Basso Teases High-Intensity Final Season (Exclusive)

Translate

EXCLUSIVE: The Night Agent season 4 is shaping up to be its biggest yet.

Series star Gabriel Basso, who portrays main spy Peter Sutherland, has teased just how intense the show's final season will be, opening up about the plot and stunts to come. The intense Netflix action thriller TV show began filming its final season in May 2026, which is expected to take place in Los Angeles, California. While very little has been revealed about the story for The Night Agent season 4, the episodes will bring Peter's story to a definitive end.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Tatiana Hullender, Basso unpacked what to expect from The Night Agent season 4 ahead of its release. The actor revealed it's going to be the biggest season thus far, calling it "nuts" and praising the B-plot happening with other characters who will be wrapped up in the story. He specifically gave praise to the show's stunt team, including Austin Brewer, Lance Elliot, and Josh Fried, indicating some big, action-packed set pieces are in the works.

Check out what Basso had to say about the final season below:

ScreenRant: We're coming up on the heels of The Night Agent season 4. What can you tease?

Gabriel Basso: Oh, man. It's nuts!

ScreenRant: Biggest one yet?

Gabriel Basso: Yes. We have a really good B-plot going on, we have a really great cast there. We've put a lot of work into the stunts with Austin and Lance and Josh, so I'm pretty psyched about the stunts this season. It should be really cool.

Basso remains decidedly tight-lipped on the actual story of the final season. The Night Agent season 3 ended a plot that had been set up as early as season 2, with Peter and financial journalist Isabel De Leon exposing the Hagans and their illegal dealings to the public, after which the presidential pair pardon themselves of their crimes. It's unclear if season 4 will follow up on the ending, or if the show will go in an entirely new direction to bring his story to a close.

What's known about season 4 is a number of new main cast members set to join the final batch of episodes. For main cast members, this includes Titus Welliver as DOJ prosecutor Duval; Trevante Rhodes as Peter's new partner, Dom; Li Jun Li as Min, Dom's wife; Elizabeth Lail as Peter's ex-fiancée, Zoe; Abigail Breslin as FBI agent Cahlin; and David Denman as CIA agent Ford, head of the Joint Terrorism Task Force. Whatever Peter's up to, it's going to involve multiple agencies and many new faces.

Peter in The Night Agent Netflix

The show remains a popular staple for Netflix, though the previous two seasons were never able to match the same high level of success season 1 saw. For quite some time, The Night Agent season 1 was one of Netflix's most-watched English-language TV shows of all time. However, subsequent seasons of The Night Agent, while successful on their own, were never able to reach the same height. Either way, the show seems poised to go out with a bang, as per Basso's praise of the final episodes.

With The Night Agent nearing its conclusion, more information about the final season will likely arrive when filming finally wraps. The series seems to still be a core staple of Netflix's action thriller lineup, making it bittersweet to see it finally reach a conclusion. However, Basso's praise for the final episodes signals it'll be leaving a strong impression on its audience, delivering a fitting, action-packed conclusion with one final mission.
