Ranabaali North America Box Office: Turning Out To Be A Big Disaster, Grosses Just Over $700K In Opening Weekend

Ranabaali, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, was the big Tollywood release after The Paradise, and expectations were high. Unfortunately, the trend has been worrying so far, especially at the North American box office (USA and Canada). In pre-sales, the enthusiasm was clearly missing, and even after the release, things didn’t change. As a result, it scored disappointing numbers in its 3-day opening weekend.
The biggest selling point of the period action drama was the reunion of Vijay and Rashmika. The duo was last seen in Dear Comrade, which was released in 2019. So, after 6 years, the duo returned to the big screen, exciting fans. However, among neutrals, it didn’t move the needle. In premieres, it scored just $262K, and it didn’t see any turnaround over the weekend.
How much did Ranabaali earn at the North American box office in 3 days?
Including premieres, Ranabaali posted an opening day of just $437K. On Saturday, day 2, it grossed $166K, down from the actual day 1 total of $175K, rather than going up. On Sunday, day 3, it dropped further and scored $97K. Overall, the film concluded its 3-day opening weekend at $704K at the North American box office. It equals 6.68 crore in Indian rupees.

How much does Ranabaali need to achieve break-even in North America?
It has been learned that Ranabaali needs to gross $2.2 million to break even at the North American box office. It equals 20.87 crore in Indian rupees. While the number was big, it looked achievable in the long run. However, given average word-of-mouth, the film is now turning out to be a big disaster for the distributor.
Vijay Deverakonda’s last release, Kingdom, grossed $1.76 million despite poor word-of-mouth. Unfortunately, Vijay’s latest release won’t come close to the closing collection of Kingdom. In fact, it is expected to wrap up just above Kingdom’s premiere collections, standing at $933K.
