Megastar Chiranjeevi has condemned the alleged misuse of artificial intelligence to create and circulate a digitally manipulated video involving Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor from their song ‘Chuttamalle’ in ‘Devara: Part 1’. In a strong statement, the actor described the creation of degrading AI-generated content targeting women as “cruel, shameful and completely unacceptable”.

Chiranjeevi also said he would raise the matter with industry bodies and push for a dedicated support mechanism for those affected.

Chiranjeevi calls AI misuse ‘cruel’ and ‘shameful’

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Chiranjeevi expressed his concern over the circulation of the manipulated video and condemned the use of AI to target women with degrading content.“I am deeply disturbed by the use of AI to create degrading and morphed videos of a woman. Such acts are cruel, shameful and completely unacceptable.

I strongly condemn them.”Chiranjeevi further stressed that the misuse of AI could potentially affect anyone and said people should not remain silent merely because they have not personally experienced such an incident.

Chiranjeevi seeks legal action and dedicated support cell

The actor said those responsible for creating and deliberately circulating such content should be held accountable under the law. He also said he plans to take up the matter with the Telugu Film Chamber, the Producers’ Council and other affiliated industry bodies.

“I will take this matter up with the Telugu Film Chamber, the Producers’ Council and our affiliated industry bodies, and recommend the formation of a dedicated committee and support cell.”According to Chiranjeevi, such a mechanism should coordinate with Cyber Crime authorities to assist victims, facilitate the removal of manipulated content and pursue legal action against those responsible. The actor also urged the Central and State Governments to take stronger measures against the misuse of AI.

He appealed to people not to watch, download, share or circulate such videos, even when doing so to condemn them, and instead report the content to the relevant platforms and Cyber Crime authorities.

Jr NTR condemns AI-morphed video

Earlier, Jr NTR had also reacted strongly to the alleged AI manipulation involving his ‘Chuttamalle’ song with Janhvi Kapoor. The actor condemned the content and said he would pursue legal action against both its creators and those circulating it.

Jr NTR's post

“Disgusting, Sick and Shameless. In a land that worships women as mothers and goddesses, where "Matrudevo Bhava" is not just a phrase but a part of our culture, some people have fallen so low that they are using AI to disrespect a woman in the most degrading way possible. Using AI to create something this vile is shameful beyond words.”Jr NTR further warned those behind the manipulated video, writing: “To the scumbags behind this morphed Chuttamalle video, I will not spare any of you.

I will take every possible legal action against those who created it and those who are spreading it.”

Vijay Deverakonda also condemns misuse of AI

‘Ranabaali’ actor Vijay Deverakonda has also spoken out against the incident and called for strict legal consequences. He described the creation and circulation of such manipulated material as “the digital equivalent of sexual assault” and questioned the growing insensitivity surrounding the misuse of technology.

Deverakonda also extended his support to those raising their voices against the misuse of AI, adding to the growing calls for accountability and stronger safeguards against digitally manipulated content.
