Taylor Swift’s ‘Patient Zero’ Adds Third Week at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

Translate

Taylor Swift’s “Patient Zero” leads the Billboard Hot 100 for a third total and consecutive week, having debuted as her 16th career No. 1.

The single is one of four new cuts on the deluxe version, released Sept. 25, of Swift’s 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Meanwhile, Dominic Fike earns his first Hot 100 top 10 as the resurgent “Babydoll” jumps three spots to No. 10. Originally released in 2018, the song entered the chart in February. In April, it became a top three hit on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S.; it has since remained in the top 40 of both charts continuously.

Read on for details of the entire top 10 on this week’s Hot 100.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts dated Oct. 24, 2026, will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, Oct. 20. For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram. • ‘Patient Zero’ Streams, Airplay & Sales

“Patient Zero,” on Republic Records, totaled 12.8 million official streams (down 27% week over week), 28.2 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 8%), 27,000 downloads sold (up 246%) and 151,000 physical copies sold (up 12%) in the U.S. Oct. 9-15.

The track drops 2-3 on the Streaming Songs chart after a week at No. 1; holds at its No. 15 high on Radio Songs; and logs a third week at No. 1 on Digital Song Sales.

Boosting the song’s totals in the tracking week were the arrivals of its acoustic and piano versions, for digital download and on streaming services, and its 7-inch vinyl version sold in Swift’s webstore.

  • A Year’s Worth of No. 1s

“Patient Zero” gives Swift a 52nd week career week atop the Hot 100, combining all her chart-toppers. She is one of five acts with the milestone equivalent of a year or more at No. 1 over the list’s 68-year history.

Most Weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100:

    • 101, Mariah Carey
    • 60, Rihanna
    • 59, The Beatles
    • 58, Drake
    • 52, Taylor Swift
  • Fike’s First Top 10

Dominic Fike’s “Babydoll” climbs 13-10 on the Hot 100, led by 48.4 million in radio reach (up 4%), along with 5.6 million streams, in the tracking week.

The Florida native charted four previous Hot 100 entries (which peaked between Nos. 81 and 99) in 2021-25 before “Babydoll” broke through, thanks, in large part, to new traction on TikTok. He has since added a second top 40 hit, “White Keys,” which reached No. 32 in April.

In Billboard Philippines’ July digital issue cover story, Fike mused about the new attention on “Babydoll,” which was released on his 2018 EP, Don’t Forget About Me, Demos. “I was making an album in upstate New York, and it was just me and, like, five dudes … we were in a cabin in hoodies, drinking coffee,” he said of the song’s ascent at last. “The initial shock of it was very chill … and then I got to live out the reality of it happening, which was cool.”

Fike’s third studio album, How To Quit Smoking, is due Oct. 30.

  • Rest of Top 10: ‘Choosin’ Texas’ & More

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” holds at No. 2 following its record 24 weeks atop the Hot 100. It concurrently ties Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the most weeks – 26 – totaled at No. 1 on Streaming Songs (19.8 million, down 5%, Oct. 9-15). “Choosin’ Texas” also leads the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart for a 45th week, matching Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” from 2024, for the second-longest No. 1 run; Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line’s “Meant To Be” dominated for 50 weeks in 2017-18.

Stella Lefty’s “Boston” keeps at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and Morgan Wallen’s “Been by Now” is steady at No. 4, with both having hit No. 2.

Tame Impala and JENNIE’s “Dracula” lifts a spot back to its No. 5 Hot 100 high. It rules the multimetric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for a 41st week and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs for a 23rd, as it tops Radio Songs for a fifth frame (63.7 million, up 2%).

ADÉLA’s “Nicole Kidman” ascends 9-6 for a new Hot 100 best; Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” holds at No. 7, after it led in its debut week in June; and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Stupid Song” repeats at No. 8, after peaking at No. 3.

Plus, Karol G’s “BbY WOW,” with Judeline and rusowsky, rises 10-9 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 6. It’s No. 1 on the multimetric Hot Latin Songs chart for a ninth week.
