KUALA LUMPUR: The country's haze situation showed little improvement, with none of the 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide recording healthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 1.30pm today.

According to the Department of Environment's (DoE) Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, Johor remained the worst-hit state, with eight monitoring stations recording unhealthy API readings, followed by Selangor with six.

In Johor, Tangkak recorded the highest API reading at 186, followed by Batu Pahat (184), Larkin (183), Pasir Gudang (182), Segamat (180), Kluang (176), Kota Tinggi (172) and Pengerang (169).

The six areas in Selangor with unhealthy API readings were Shah Alam (164), Johan Setia (161), Petaling Jaya (159), Klang (154), Banting (154) and Kuala Selangor (120).

Seventeen other monitoring stations nationwide also recorded unhealthy API readings. These included Batu Muda (176), Cheras (173) and Putrajaya (165).

Another 37 areas recorded moderate API readings.

Earlier today, it was reported that 32 locations nationwide recorded unhealthy API readings as of 8am.
