Loki Star Addresses Avengers: Doomsday Return Status After New TVA Post-Credits Scene

Translate

One of Loki’s main actors has addressed whether they’ll be back for Avengers: Doomsday following the Time Variance Authority’s latest appearance.

One of Avengers Endgame: Encore's additional scenes shows TVA employees Mobius (Owen Wilson), Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan), Casey (Eugene Cordero), Ralph (James Dryden), and Miss Minutes (Tara Strong) from the Loki TV show detecting multiple “incursions” between universes. This foreshadows the threat that Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom poses to the multiverse in Doomsday, requiring Tom Hiddleston’s Loki variant to get involved. What remains to be seen is exactly how involved the TVA, led by Wunmi Mosaku’s Hunter B-15, will be involved in this story.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley for The Social Reckoning, Mosaku was asked about whether Hunter B-15 will be present in Avengers: Doomsday following Avengers Endgame: Encore’s TVA scene. The actor stated that not only hasn’t she seen Encore, she’s unaware of any plans to bring B-15 back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In her words:

I haven't seen it. I'm so sorry. I haven't seen it. Should I have seen it? I don't know if I'm returning. I don't know what happened in the movie, but good to know I will watch it.

In the Loki series finale, Hunter B-15 became the TVA’s new leader after the Disney+ show’s title protagonist destroyed the agency’s Loom, rejuvenated the dying timelines, and became the multiverse’s new guardian at the End of Time. Under B-15’s command, the TVA now embraces the infinite branching timelines, and they’ve also been tracking down He Who Remains’ variants. Mosaku last appeared as B-15 in Deadpool & Wolverine, where the character arrested rogue TVA employee Paradox after he was defeated by Wade Wilson and Logan.

Along with the check-in at the TVA, Avengers Endgame: Encore’s other extra footage includes Loki visiting Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter at the latter’s home as they were dancing together, Doctor Doom taking Bruce Banner from a military complex following the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Doom forging his metal mask. Though not officially announced as part of Avengers: Doomsday’s cast, Wilson, Quan, Cordero, Dryden, and Strong are all expected to reprise their roles. Mosaku, on the other hand, will evidently not be present.

Doctor Doom’s machinations in Avengers: Doomsday will require the Avengers, New Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, “original” X-Men, and other allies to join forces and stop him. This storyline will conclude in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, which will also close out the Multiverse Saga. This potentially leaves the door open for Hunter B-15 to appear in that upcoming Marvel movie. Originally, Doomsday was known as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but Marvel Studios pivoted from Kang the Conqueror to Doom as the main antagonist after firing actor Jonathan Majors.

Avengers: Doomsday opens in theaters Friday, December 18. The Social Reckoning, where Mosaku plays Raya, a member of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s legal counsel, will be widely released Friday, October 9.
