Preparations for next year’s 39th National Games in Meghalaya are progressing well, said Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC) chairperson Sunaina Kumari on Thursday.
“We are satisfied with the progress so far,” Kumari told reporters after a four-day inspection of proposed venues in Shillong and Jowai.
The five-member GTCC, appointed by the Indian Olympic Association on October 14, visited Meghalaya from November 2 to 5. Kumari praised the coordination among government departments and agencies.
“Everyone is working together towards one common goal, which is to ensure the successful hosting of the Games,” she said. She also thanked Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, the Deputy Chief Ministers and Sports Minister Dr Vijay Kumar.
