‘Ramayana’: Harish Uthaman lauds Yash’s powerful performance; 'When he performs as Ravan, he becomes a mighty Ravan'

In a recent interview, the actor discussed Yash’s performance and shared his experience of working alongside him.Harish Uthaman told Variety India that Yash’s off-camera personality contrasts with the powerful character he portrays. Harish Uthaman praises Yash’s Ravana transformation

Reflecting on his first meeting with Yash on the sets of ‘Ramayana’, Harish Uthaman said the actor’s performance stood out to him. He also spoke about Yash’s friendly nature when he is not performing before the camera.“We have all seen Yash in earlier films, and we know his aura and his screen presence. But this was the first time I met Yash on the sets of ‘Ramayana.’ Every single time I have met him since, he comes across as such a kind human being.

But when he performs as Ravan, he becomes a mighty Ravan, is what I would say. The way he performs, his costumes, and the way he speaks — the command he has is unbelievable. It is so good to see him.”

Actor recalls missing an opportunity to work with Yash

Harish Uthaman revealed that he was supposed to work with Yash on a film in 2015-16. However, the project did not move forward, leaving the two actors without an opportunity to collaborate at the time. Their association with ‘Ramayana’ has now brought them together after nearly a decade.

Uthaman said he was happy to share the screen with Yash, particularly because their characters are brothers in the epic. “In 2015-16, I was supposed to be in a film with Yash, but it didn't happen.

With me being a part of ‘Ramayana’ and as his brother, I am really happy. So, I missed the opportunity to work with him in 2015-16, but I am glad it happened almost after 10 years. And I am part of ‘Ramayana,’ and I am excited.”

Harish Uthaman calls Yash a considerate co-actor

The 'Ini Utharam' actor also spoke about Yash’s approach to working with other performers.

According to the actor, Yash communicates with fellow cast members about scenes and makes an effort to involve them in the creative process. Uthaman described this quality as helpful while working together. “Yash has always been very kind, and in the scenes I have worked with Yash, I think he is an amazing co-actor who is extremely considerate.

And he has a discussion, or he always talks to the actors who are with him in a scene.

So that is very helpful.”
