Nobody won Friday’s R93 million PowerBall, here’s what’s rolling into Tuesday

Translate

Friday’s PowerBall draw has come and gone without a jackpot winner, in either game, sending both prizes rolling over once again.

No player matched all five numbers plus the PowerBall in Friday’s draw, sending the R90 million main jackpot rolling over to an estimated R97 million for Tuesday, 6 October.

THE WINNING NUMBERS

The winning PowerBall numbers drawn on Friday, 2 October, were 15, 26, 27, 28, 39, with a PowerBall number of 10.

For PowerBall Xtra, the numbers were 33, 36, 40, 41, 42, with a PowerBall Xtra number of 04.

HOW CLOSE SOUTH AFRICANS ACTUALLY GOT

While nobody claimed either jackpot, one player came genuinely close.

A single ticket matched all five main numbers in the PowerBall draw, just missing the PowerBall itself, and walked away with R593,155.50 in Division 2.

A further 23 players matched four numbers plus the PowerBall, each collecting R12,894.60.

PowerBall Xtra’s own R3 million jackpot also went unclaimed on the same night.

WHY THIS KEEPS HAPPENING

Rollovers happen whenever no single ticket matches all five main numbers plus the PowerBall, and the unclaimed portion simply carries forward, growing the pot for the next draw.

It’s exactly this pattern that regularly pushes PowerBall jackpots into the tens, and sometimes hundreds, of millions.

For context, the biggest PowerBall jackpot ever won in South Africa remains R178,955,240.90, claimed back on 20 January 2026.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT TUESDAY

With no winner again, the main PowerBall jackpot now rolls into Tuesday, 6 October, with an estimated R97 million on the table.

PowerBall Xtra is separately expected to climb to around R6 million for the same draw, though this figure will only be confirmed closer to draw night.

Worth remembering: a bigger jackpot doesn’t change your actual odds of winning, which stay fixed regardless of how large the prize grows.

I always find these extended rollover streaks genuinely gripping to follow.

Somewhere out there, someone’s numbers are about to finally line up, it’s just a matter of which draw finally does it.

Are you playing on Tuesday, and do you already have your numbers picked?
