EXCLUSIVE: Canada’s Precious Metal Productions and Good Soldier Films have wrapped TV movie Summer’s Camp Romance as sales launch at MIPCOM.

It is their second collaboration after 2025 culinary-themed romance Bee My Love, which was spearheaded by Precious Metal Productions partners, producer-director Christopher Giroux and actress-producer Ann Pirvu, as their joint company’s inaugural production.

Pirvu (Reign) leads the cast with Stephen Huszar (O Little Christmas Market) in the new romance featuring special appearances by Kat Barrell (Wynonna Earp), Kristin Booth (Signed, Sealed, Delivered) Stefan Brogren (Degrassi High,) and Andrew Phung (Kim’s Convenience).

Rounding out the supporting cast is Romaine Waite (Jingle All The Way To Love), Rob Stewart (The Way Home), Mikayla SwamiNathan (Children Ruin Everything), Brigitte Kingsley (The Art of Christmas) and introducing Vera Deodato.

The film follows the quest of an ambitious advertising executive (Pirvu) to fulfil her daughter’s dream of attending a sought-after summer camp against the odds, when places fill up in record time.

The determined mother reluctantly teams up with a former star athlete (Huszar), who is helping his niece pursue the same dream, to compete in a series of camp-inspired challenges for a coveted spot at Camp Falcon Ridge.

The pair are swept into outdoor adventures and cherished camp traditions, where an unforgettable group of Camp Rangers remind them that success is not always about accomplishments and sparks begin to fly on all levels as things do not go to plan.

The screenplay was co-written by Pirvu and Giroux, marking their second feature collaboration following Bee My Love, with the latter directing again.

“Summer camp sign-up can often feel a little like the Hunger Games. We wanted to capture that wonderfully relatable experience while telling a story filled with romance, family fun, and the timeless magic and nostalgia of camp life,” said Pirvu.

Summer’s Camp Romance is produced by Brigitte Kingsley and Andrew Cymek under their Good Soldiers Films banner alongside Pirvu and Giroux as well as co-star Huszar

Kingsley is also handling sales through Defiant Empire Distribution, her joint Canadian distribution company with Cymek.

“Summer’s Camp Romance has everything we love about making movies—an incredible ensemble, a terrific story, beautiful locations and a wonderful group of filmmakers behind it,” said Kingsley. “We’re delighted to be collaborating with Precious Metal Productions again, and I’m thrilled to be taking the film to MIPCOM this year. I can’t wait to share it with buyers and partners around the world.”

Aside from Bee My Love, Giroux’s directorial credits also include Snowbound for the Holidays which premiered during this year’s Christmas in July on Hallmark.

“When we started working on this project, we wanted to create an event-level TV romance movie — something relatable, energized and full of surprises,” he said.

“There’s something exciting about seeing worlds collide, for fans of the genre — it’s the same feeling you get watching Spider-Man and the Hulk share the screen. We wanted to bring some of that crossover Marvel Cinematic Universe energy to the TV movie world – this is our Avengers.”

The production caps a busy year for the film’s creative team. Kingsley and Cymek recently wrapped back-to-back Christmas movies, as well as their newest feature, Shore of Secrets starring Ryan Pavey (General Hospital), Kingsley and Eric Peterson (Corner Gas).

While Pirvu and Christopher Giroux recently unveiled a new multi-picture feature film slate with Black Fawn Distribution during TIFF 2026.

That slate further expands Pirvu and Giroux’s commitment to developing and producing original Canadian features, while Summer’s Camp Romance continues the growing creative partnership between Precious Metal Productions and Good Soldier Films.
