Liu won the women’s marathon title at the World Speed Skating Championships in China last year.

Athletes from 37 countries are competing in this year’s World Skate Games, with Taiwan winning 10 gold, eight silver and six bronze medals so far. Freestyle skating has contributed 18 medals to Taiwan’s tally — seven gold, seven silver and four bronze.

The Games run until Sunday, featuring 40 disciplines across 12 sports categories and e-sports.
