Emmerdale's Sarah to face awkward questions in aftermath of baby bombshell

Emmerdale's Sarah Sudgen faces an awkward question next week as she continues to deal with the fallout from her grandmother Charity Dingle's devastating baby bombshell. Earlier this month, Jacob and Sarah found out that baby Leyla is not biologically their daughter.

The couple had believed that Leyla was their daughter and Charity was merely the baby's surrogate. But Charity did not end up getting pregnant from the embryo belonging to Sarah and Jacob but instead became pregnant after sleeping with Ross.

The revelation came just after Charity was accused of killing Dr Todd, who actually died after being shoved by Sarah during an argument.

In scenes to air next week, when Moses asks Sarah if Leyla is his sister, it puts Sarah in an awkward position and she says they will chat later.

But when Mack gets wind of the conversation he’s furious Moses knows. Thea then receives a text that Charity’s trial date has been set.

Meanwhile, Sarah’s guilt is building as Charity could go to prison for something she didn’t do. But when Sarah spots Serena furtively associating with Thea, she is suspicious. What will Sarah do with this?

Last week Sarah may have made matters worse for Charity by changing her statement again. Sarah went to the police station to insist that Charity did "nothing wrong" and admitted she had initially turned on her grandmother "in the heat of the moment".

However the new statement hasn't changed anything for Charity who is now awaiting trial over Dr Todd's murder.
