Report Manu Koné now worth €100m to Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool

After reports Roma rebuffed €50m proposals from Manchester United, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool, it’s now suggested France international Manu Koné is worth closer to €100m on the transfer market.

The midfielder was widely expected to leave over the summer, as the Giallorossi had already worked hard to resist Inter’s pursuit several months earlier.

His asking price had already gone up to €60m, a figure that Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool amongst others had come close to, but ultimately decided not to reach.

Koné value just keeps rising

Now with a strong start to the Serie A and Champions League seasons, and becoming a regular first choice for Zinedine Zidane’s France, Koné sees his profile continue to rise.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, by the time the January transfer window comes around, Roma would be well within their rights to ask for circa €100m before considering letting the Frenchman leave.

Considering Sandro Tonali cost €108m for Tottenham Hotspur, Elliott Anderson joined Manchester City for €135m and Ayyoub Bouaddi €100m, it’s not entirely illogical.

He was dropped into a deeper role to help protect the defence when France beat Turkiye 1-0 in last night’s Nations League game, adding another weapon to his tactical armoury.

It comes after Koné scored twice in Roma’s 2-2 draw with Inter, which kept both teams top of the Serie A table along with Lazio.
