Next week is set to be an exciting time for PlayStation Plus subscribers as, to celebrate the digital release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sony will be giving away a batch of stunning freebies that you do not want to miss out on.
Hitting cinemas back in July, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marked the fourth film in the MCU Spider-Man film series following 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Tom Holland's Peter Parker returning to the fray as he deals with his ever-evolving powers, and the threat of a new telekinetic power that threatens New York itself.
Seeing the likes of Zendaya and Jacob Batalon return, Brand New Day also welcomed Sadie Sink as Jean Gray and Jon Berthal as Frank Castle, and it was not long before the brand-new Spider-Man movie set multiple box office records, becoming the highest-grossing Spider-Man film, the highest-grossing film of 2026, the highest-grossing film in the United States and Canada, and the third-highest grossing film of all time. So yes, quite a few accolades there.
Now, following its stint in cinemas, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is finally about to welcome its digital debut on the Sony Pictures Core app where subscribers will be able to experience the movie in the comfort of their own homes, and even celebrate its release with six stunning downloads.
From 6 October onwards, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to get their hands on five PSN profile icons, each featuring a beloved character from Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This includes Spider-Man, MJ, Jean Grey, Ned Leeds, and Frank Castle.
To download them, you will have to head to the Sony Pictures Core app and follow the detailed steps in order to access the avatars for free. If you are not subscribed to the app, you will still be able to grab the avatars, but you will have to purchase the digital version of Spider-Man: Brand New Day to be eligible. However, with a myriad of positive reviews and record-breaking numbers, it does not seem like a movie that you will regret purchasing.
Here at Screen Rant, our very own Graeme Guttmann scored Spider-Man: Brand New Day a respectable 7/10 stars, calling it "Tom Holland's Best MCU Solo-Movie Yet" in his review.
Brand New Day feels like a classic Spider-Man movie in that sense. We watch Peter investigate crime, live in the city that cherishes him, and try to earn back the love of the people he's lost. We watch Spider-Man crash through the sides of skyscrapers and land ass-first in alleyways after bumping off a fire escape. Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn't perfect, but it feels part of a tradition that began in 2002 while acknowledging the currently fraught landscape in which it exists. A tricky balancing act that only Peter Parker could pull off.
So, if you want to celebrate the digital launch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in style by decorating your PlayStation profile with matching avatars, make sure to take advantage of these freebies that go live on 6 October.
