Actor Keerthy Suresh was recently seen alongside Radhika Apte in the latest crime thriller web series ‘Akka’. Recently, the ‘Mahanati’ actress spoke about the differences she has noticed between the Hindi film industry and South cinema.
Keerthy Suresh talks about working in Bollywood
During an interaction with IANS, Keerthy Suresh said Bollywood places considerable importance on pre-production, including script readings, actor training and interactions with co-stars. She described the working process in South cinema as more spontaneous.“It's a very different process altogether. Like script readings and the prep work, everything that goes here. There's a lot of time that we spend in pre-production in terms of training the actors, interacting with them, meeting all the other actors, whereas in South it's more spontaneous.
I kind of like both,” she said.
Differences in working styles
Keerthy Suresh shared that she enjoys working in both industries despite their different approaches to filmmaking. She explained that actors in South Indian films sometimes meet their co-stars only on the day of the shoot.“So there it's very spontaneous. There's not much prep work unless and until it's a very particular kind of character where you need a lot of effort. Most of the things are spontaneous.
Sometimes I've met other actors or other important co-actors on set, probably that day of the shoot. So I kind of like working on both,” Keerthy Suresh added.

Talking about her character in Bhavani ‘Akka’, Keerthy Suresh described her as a strong woman who is determined to protect her legacy. She added, “What makes her interesting is that beneath her strength and authority are choices that are never easy, especially when the stakes are so high.”She also praised her experience working with Radhika Apte, saying their characters bring different energies to the story. “Working with Radhika was amazing because Bhavani and Rudra bring such different energies to the story, and their dynamic adds another layer of tension to the narrative,” she said.Speaking of her work, she was seen on the big screens making a special appearance in Nani’s latest film ‘The Paradise’ directed by Srikanth Odela.
