Mollywood actor Nivin Pauly has opened up about his role in 'Benz' and whether his character Walter is connected to some of the characters in the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe. The actor plays the antagonist in the upcoming action film, which stars Raghava Lawrence in the lead.Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, 'Benz' is being promoted as the fourth entry in the LCU. In a recent interaction, Nivin Pauly was asked whether Walter would have links to Dilli from Karthi's 'Kaithi' and Rolex from Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram'.

Nivin Pauly talks about Walter

During the event hosted by Behindwoods, a fan asked Nivin Pauly about the possibility of his character sharing a storyline with Dilli and Rolex. While he did not disclose specific plot details, the actor confirmed that the new film belongs to the LCU.“I can’t reveal anything about that world. But yes, it is an LCU-connected film, and all these characters exist within that universe. The LCU has a huge fan base in both Tamil Nadu and Kerala. I’m also a big fan of Dilli and Rolex. All of that is there in this film. That’s all I can say.”

Raghava Lawrence headlines 'Benz'

Raghava Lawrence takes on the titular role in the action entertainer. Bakkiyaraj Kannan is directing the film, while Lokesh Kanagaraj has been associated with the writing.

The cast also includes Samyuktha, who plays the female lead in 'Benz'. Ravi Mohan is also part of the project in a key role.

From 'Kaithi' to 'Leo'

The LCU began with Karthi's 'Kaithi', which introduced Dilli to audiences. The story later expanded through Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram'. The latter also brought Suriya's Rolex into the larger universe.Thalapathy Vijay's 'Leo' subsequently added another layer to the franchise. The three films established connections between characters and criminal networks across different stories that are all connected with drug mafia.With Nivin Pauly entering as a villain in the Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe, the expectations are high.

'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' box office

Meanwhile, Nivin Pauly's latest release 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' continues its theatrical run. Directed by Girish AD, the film stars Mamitha Baiju alongside Nivin Pauly.The movie earned Rs 24 lakhs in India net collections on Day 41. The figure was recorded on Wednesday, September 30, from 550 shows across the country, according to Sacnilk.The latest collection was 7.7% lower than the Rs 26 lakhs earned on Tuesday. Its total India net collection has now reached Rs 164.11 cr. The India gross stands at Rs 191.59 cr. 'Bethlehem Kudumba Unit' has also continued to earn from overseas markets. The film's cumulative overseas gross currently stands at Rs 138.25 cr.With the domestic and overseas figures combined, the film's worldwide gross has reached Rs 329.84 cr. Its theatrical run is now approaching its final phase. The Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju-starrer is scheduled to arrive on OTT on October 2.
