Celine Dion has been in the game long enough to know that a little stage mishap isn’t going to stop the show.

During her Paris residency on Wednesday, the superstar took quite a tumble while performing at the Plenitude Arena. But after briefly hitting the floor, Dion quickly popped back up, flashed the audience a thumbs-up and carried on with the performance.

A video that is circulating on social media shows Dion moving across the stage while singing “Dans un autre monde,” one of the French-language songs featured on her current setlist. She is sliding across the stage and at one point, seems to jump and land awkwardly, with her heel possibly catching on her pants before she loses her balance and falls backward.

Dion didn’t stay down for very long. She got back to her feet and gave the crowd a reassuring thumbs-up before continuing the song, turning what could have been a frightening injury into a quick blip in the evening.

The fall happened during the 11th show of Dion’s 26-date Paris residency, which began Sept. 12 and classified her return to regular live performances after a six-year hiatus. The current run continues through Oct. 17, with another 10 performances scheduled for May 2027.

The Paris shows serve as a special comeback for the singer, as she has spent the last several years dealing with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that she publicly revealed in December 2022. The condition has caused muscle spasms and affected her ability to walk and sing, ultimately forcing her to step away from touring and cancel planned performances.

Dion has been candid about just how difficult that period was. In her 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion, she described relying on medication to help her function and acknowledged the emotional toll of having to conceal what was happening with her health.

Dion is now back onstage, seemingly determined to keep going even when things don’t go perfectly.

And there’s a lot of music that Dion has in her discography that has made this comeback feel nostalgic and significant. Dion holds four No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including “The Power of Love” –which spent 33 weeks on the chart — “Because You Loved Me,” “My Heart Will Go On” and “I’m Your Angel.”
