"The chair recalls the subpoena issued to Mayor Sebastian Duterte on September 23, and orders the clerk of court to issue the corresponding subpoenas for Mayor Duterte, Atty. Samonte, and Major Sangalang on September 28 to September 30 at 10 in the morning," Escudero said at the end of the 27th day of the trial.

The Senate impeachment court has recalled the subpoena for Davao City Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte and two others to appear on September 23, Wednesday, when oral arguments on the voting threshold have been scheduled.

Senate impeachment court presiding officer Senator-Judge Francis Escudero on Monday issued a subpoena for Baste Duterte, Atty. Gary Samonte, and Police Maj. Jerickson Sangalang for September 28 to 30, or Monday to Wednesday next week.

Samonte, and Major Sangalang on September 28 to September 30 at 10 in the morning," Escudero said at the end of the 27th day of the trial.

Heeding the subpoena on Monday was Gerardo del Rosario, director of the company registration and monitoring department of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

He is scheduled to return on Tuesday to answer questions on the alleged shareholdings of the vice president.

The Senate impeachment court is tackling Article 2 of the Articles of Impeachment, which specifically alleges that the Vice President accumulated unexplained wealth through the following:

• failure to fully and truthfully disclose all her and her spouse's assets, liabilities, and net worth in her statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN), including in her SALN for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024; and
• failure to divest, and instead, willfully continued all her business interests during her tenure as vice president for the years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Former Sandiganbayan presiding justice Amparo Cabotaje-Tang was earlier invited to the trial, wherein she testified that a public official's acquisition of unexplained wealth can be a ground for removal from office.

The House prosecution panel earlier said the Davao City mayor could speak about Gencorp Industries, Inc., a firm linked to his sister, the Vice President. –NB, GMA News
