Singapore landlord jailed after being caught on CCTV taking tenant’s underwear, performing lewd acts twice

SINGAPORE, Oct 7 — A landlord secretly entered his female tenant’s room while she was away and took her undergarments to perform a lewd act.

CCTV camera caught the Filipino man, 61, committing the obscene act on at least two occasions, reported Shin Min Daily News on Monday (October 5).

The Singapore permanent resident was recently sentenced to three weeks’ jail.

He cannot be named as the court imposed a gag order to protect the female victim.

According to Shin Min, the crimes took place in a HDB flat in Singapore’s central region.

The landlord lives in the flat with his wife and daughter, and the victim was his tenant.

Court documents cited by the Chinese paper said the victim had installed the camera under her bed before going overseas between July 22 and August 19, 2024.

She felt uncomfortable by her landlord’s previous actions, reported Shin Min, without specifying.

On August 3, 2024, the landlord used a master key to access the tenant’s room and took a set of underwear from the closet and pleasured himself.

The victim, who viewed the camera footage of the act, asked a colleague to help position the CCTV camera on her table the next day.

About two weeks later, the landlord entered the room again after watching pornographic content.

He performed a lewd act again, reported Shin Min, and was similarly captured on camera.

The victim immediately began searching for a new place after returning to Singapore.

She moved out of the flat and lodged a police report in September 2024. — AsiaOne
