Patrick Schwarzenegger & Leslie Grace To Star In AGC Crime-Thriller ‘The Journeyman’

EXCLUSIVE: Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus) will star as a down-on-his-luck tennis pro who is drawn into the dark world of match-fixing to make ends meet for his family in crime-thriller The Journeyman.

Leslie Grace (In the Heights) will co-star as his fiercely loyal fiancée. Ángel Manuel Soto (Wrecking Crew) will direct from a script by husband-wife duo The Roberts with revisions by Bill Dubuque (Ozark).

AGC Studios will fully finance and produce the crime-thriller. Stuart Ford will produce alongside Bryan Haas (The Order), Mason Eways, and Scott Franklin (Black Swan), with AGC’s Miguel A. Palos, Jr., Zach Garrett and Anant Tamirisa executive-producing.

Pic will begin shooting on November 30th in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with The Pimienta Film Company providing production services.

The White Lotus and Love of Your Life star Schwarzenegger is currently filming Mike Birbiglia’s Focus Features comedy Old Friends New Friends. In the Heights star Grace recently released album Amor Quien Eres? through Sony Music Latin.

Puerto Rican filmmaker Manuel Soto’s latest feature was the Amazon MGM action-comedy The Wrecking Crew starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista. He previously directed Blue Beetle (Warner Bros./DC), the first Latino-led superhero film from a major studio, and Charm City Kings, which premiered at Sundance and won a U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for its ensemble cast.

AGC International reps the film’s international rights and will continue shopping the project at next month’s American Film Market. UTA and WME are co-repping domestic sales with AGC.

The film has been in the works a little while and a couple years back had Dev Patel aboard to star with Tarsem Singh directing.

Ángel Manuel Soto is repped by WME and Redefine Entertainment; Patrick Schwarzenegger is repped by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Goodman, Genow; Leslie Grace is repped by CAA and 641 Meridian; The Roberts are repped by Gersh Agency and LBI Entertainment; and Anant Tamirisa is representing AGC Studios.
