There's no doubt that Hogwarts Legacy is a really solid rendition of the Harry Potter universe, allowing players to explore the titular wizarding school and the surrounding area at leisure. That said, there are plenty of places that we know from the books and films that we never get to see in the game, and there's certainly plenty of room for expansion in the upcoming sequel.
One of the most obvious examples is Diagon Alley, which we don't get to explore due to the rushed nature of our arrival at the school. As such, it feels like a big part of the experience that a young witch or wizard goes through at the start of their studies is missing from the final product. Or it was, until now, and that's all thanks to the hard work of fan developers at home.
Over on the Curse Forge website, you should be able to find the download page for Diagon Alley London & Knockturn Alley, a mod which adds the famous shopping street and its more nefarious neighbor to the game.
While the additions don't really serve a practical function in the gameplay, they are much more there for dedicated fans to explore in a spare moment. The mod includes 15 shops in total, including series staples like Ollivander's, as well as Gringotts Bank and the Leaky Cauldron pub.
Even more excitingly than that, the download is full of Easter eggs and secrets for players to find for themselves, including passages, and recognizable objects like Hagrid's pink umbrella wand.
Knockturn Alley is also fully decked out with the more limited lore that we know about it, with evil curio shop Borgin and Burke's taking center stage. It's even possible to interact with most of the animals who have been placed in the area, as I know that's a bit of a dealbreaker for a large portion of the community.
In even better news, as is the case with all downloads on the site, it's totally free to give it a go for yourself, so why not giving it a try next time you're planning a playthrough on PC.
It's also a great way to pass the time while we wait for the now-confirmed Hogwarts Legacy sequel. That release is set to conform much more closely to the upcoming HBO adaptation of the original Harry Potter series, so expect it to be very different from the first game in story and tone.
