See the Pokémon cards that made a retired decorator a millionaire

Translate

A collection of Pokémon cards stored in a retired decorator's attic for 15 years has sold for £1.56m at auction.

The seller, from Woking, said he realised the cards were valuable after reading about a single card fetching more than £6,000 in his local newspaper.

His collection was auctioned off at Ewbank's in Surrey on Wednesday. The auction house claims it was the UK's most valuable trading cards auction ever.

The BBC's Duncan Kennedy visited Ewbank's to see the collection in person.

Find out more about the collection, and how much the most valuable cards sold for, here.
