The IDF killed four Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists during targeted airstrikes across the Gaza Strip over the weekend, the military announced on Monday.

According to an IDF statement, Sunday airstrikes spanning northern, southern, and central Gaza killed three operatives: Alaa Abu Zaid and Hamdan Suleiman Ibrahim Abu Amra, both members of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military wing, and Fawzi Salam Odat Allah Sawarha, a Hamas sniper accused of directing sniper attacks against IDF troops.

The operations followed an earlier precision strike on Saturday in northern Gaza that killed Muhammad Anan Muhammad Al-Rawaj, identified by the military as the head of a Nukhba cell in Hamas's armed wing.

The military stated that the terrorists had been actively working to restore operational military capabilities and planning attacks against Israeli troops and civilians in violation of the existing ceasefire. In a separate action on Sunday, the IDF also struck and dismantled a military structure in northern Gaza after identifying it as a sniper position targeting Israeli troops.

Prior to carrying out the aerial strikes, the IDF took measures to minimize harm to civilians by using precision munitions and aerial surveillance. Troops under the IDF's Southern Command remain deployed across the sector in line with operational agreements and continued efforts to eliminate threats.

Khan Yunis tunnel strike

In a separate announcement on Monday, the IDF stated that an aircraft targeted three terrorists on Sunday after troops spotted them emerging from a tunnel shaft in the Khan Yunis area, situated beyond the yellow line in the southern Gaza Strip.

The IDF also stated that following the initial airstrike, additional explosions were heard, indicating the presence of weapons inside the tunnel.
