NEW DELHI: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday after troops detected suspicious movement along the Line of Control (LoC), officials said.The exchange of fire took place in the Jumgund area of the Keran sector in north Kashmir after alert troops challenged and intercepted the suspected terrorists early in the morning.Officials said it was not yet clear whether the movement was linked to an infiltration attempt.The operation was underway, and further details were awaited.
