‘We’ll See ’ — Osimhen Speaks on Galatasaray Future
Victor Osimhen has addressed speculation surrounding his future at Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray, amid reports linking him with a move away from the club, Completesports.com reports.
The Nigeria international has recently emerged as a reported transfer target for Premier League champions Arsenal.
Osimhen, however, played down the speculation, insisting that his immediate focus is on helping Galatasaray enjoy a successful season.
“Rumors always circulate during transfer seasons. I’ll focus on my job. I’m focused on my work. We’ll see and think about the future then,” the striker told the club’s official website.
Galatasaray began the new season with a 2-2 draw against Arca Çorum FK.
Osimhen was the standout performer for the Yellow and Reds, scoring both goals in the closely fought encounter.
The 27-year-old, however, expressed disappointment with the result after his side failed to secure maximum points.
” Disappointment! I think it was actually a wake-up call. We weren’t underestimating our opponent. These kinds of opponents are tough,” added Osimhen.
” We knew they would challenge us, and they did. We need to wake up. We’re experiencing disappointment. Let this be a wake-up call. Knowing that all the upcoming matches will be difficult, we will learn from our mistakes, improve ourselves, and continue on our way.”
