In short:

Traders in Glenelg have raised concerns about the impact of public brawls if the anti-social behaviour continues over summer.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with disorderly behaviour after an alleged fight on Sunday.

Police have launched Operation Jericho to ramp up patrols at popular Adelaide beaches.

Traders near a popular Adelaide beach have raised concerns about the impact of public brawls in the wake of another alleged fight.

Police responded to a disturbance involving a large group of youths at Glenelg Jetty on Sunday afternoon.

A 15-year-old Marino boy was charged with disorderly behaviour over the alleged fight and was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in December.

The alleged brawl happened weeks after police responded to separate public fights at Glenelg and Henley Beach in September, which drew crowds of hundreds of young people.

A 14-year-old boy was reported for aggravated assault over the September incident and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court.

In response, police brought forward the launch of Operation Jericho to ramp up patrols along popular Adelaide beaches to crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

Shop vendor Candice Pemberton said she was concerned the disturbances would affect business if they continue.

"It's not great, if it continues to happen it'll keep families away from the area as well and we rely on families to come in and have a look and buy our stuff,"

Ms Pemberton said.

"It just doesn't make for a good vibe if you're going to have a bunch of kids out there fighting then who is going to want to come to the area.

"It's a great place for tourists and for people to come in the summer … but if things like that keep happening people are just not going to come, people are not going to shop, there's not going to be businesses around for people to shop."

Joshua Hissey from the Stamford Grand Hotel was working on Sunday and witnessed the alleged brawl and estimated there was between 50 to 100 people gathered.

He said it was unexpected for another public brawl to happen just weeks after the fights at Glenelg and Henley and said people should feel safe to come and enjoy the area.

"It's a very well secured area here, the police were there on scene very quickly so if anything does happen everyone can feel safe and not worry about their day to day in Glenelg," he said.

"These things don't happen very often and when they do they are dealt with straight away, it's just unfortunate that it happened soon after the other incident."

Beachgoer 19-year-old Luke Craker said the behaviour could potentially be driven by social media content promoting backyard fights.

"I reckon it's a lot of peer pressure to get into it, friends will be pushing them in to go for it and there's that many people around and they'll think they have to do this."

"There's lots of influencers and streamers that promote it a lot because of the money."

SA Premier Peter Malinauskas warned young people engaging in disorderly behaviour would face consequences.

"They're putting themselves at risk of breaking the law and we're going to come down on them hard and we make no apologies for this,"
