Trump announces ‘infinite life’ Greenland deal granting US permanent security control
US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the US has entered into an agreement with Denmark and Greenland that gives America permanent control over all security needs in Greenland.
“At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will forever have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America,” Trump said in a post on X/Twitter.
He added that the security measures taken in Greenland will come at no cost to the US and that development of a military presence on the island will begin immediately.
