Railways cancel several Mail/Express trains reaching New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin on October 10

On October 10, all Mail and Express trains arriving at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin will be canceled

NEW DELHI: Indian Railways has ordered the cancellation of several Mail and Express trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4am and 2pm on October 10, citing the possibility of severe road traffic congestion around the two stations.According to a railway order issued on October 9, several Mail and Express trains departing from their originating stations after 2pm on Friday and scheduled to reach New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin between 4am and 2pm on Saturday will be cancelled at source.

Railway's statement

The order, issued by the railway department's coaching directorate, said the decision was taken in view of anticipated severe traffic congestion in the areas surrounding the two stations.The move comes amid protests against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), though railway officials have not confirmed whether the cancellations are linked to the demonstrations.
