Former India batter Sabbhineni Meghana has announced her professional retirement at the age of 30.

Meghana appeared in three ODIs and 17 T20Is for India, scoring 372 runs across both formats with a high score of 69 against Malaysia in 2022. Her final international appearance came in October 2022 against Thailand in the Women’s Asia Cup.

All three of her ODI appearances came in India’s tour of New Zealand in 2022.

She also made 15 appearances across three seasons for Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, notching 302 runs at an average of 23.23. She was also a member of its 2024 title-winning squad.

“Stepping onto the field for the first very time with a bat in hand to wearing a jersey on world stage has been nothing short of a dream come true,” she said in a statement on Instagram.

“As I announce my retirement from all formats of cricket as a player, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. The field has been my second home, teaching me resilience, humility, and giving me memories and friendships that I will carry for a lifetime.”

“While my playing days come to an end, my bond with cricket will never break. I will always stay deeply connected to the game and intend to dedicate my life to giving back to the sport, mentoring the next generation, and serving the game that gave me everything.”
