News24 | Tenth woman’s body found in Ekurhuleni, deepening grisly discovery trail

The body of another woman has been discovered in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng police have confirmed.

The woman was found dead in the Vusimusi Section, Tembisa South, on Saturday morning.

“At this stage, we can only confirm the discovery of the body. Crime scene management and all the necessary role players are currently on the scene,” said police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili.

“Further information will be provided as soon as preliminary investigations have been conducted.”

The discovery of yet another body in the area comes after Ekurhuleni made headlines following the discovery of several women’s bodies in the past weeks. The latest body brings the number to 10 in the area, but it is not yet clear if this latest murder is linked to any of the others.

It comes a day after a senior police official visited Ekurhuleni to bolster law enforcement’s fight against gender-based violence in the area.
