Fans were stunned last month as an unexpected flashback scene revealed that Kim had a secret child in 1999, who was put up for adoption shortly after she was born.

The daughter is none other than DS Ramsden, who been plotting trouble for Kim ever since she arrived in the Dales during the summer.

Claire King, who plays Kim, recently promised that her character will discover the truth in an unmissable Halloween episode.

Sharing more details in an exclusive Inside Soap chat, Sophie teased: "It will be a showdown of quite epic proportions!

"We've seen that Thea is very much her mother's daughter – so we're setting up that expectation for the viewers when these two women collide and the truth is revealed!"

She continued: "Halloween will absolutely be a peak in that story, but their relationship is only going to get more complicated.

"We'll see Kim in a really different way, as we'll be exploring a part of her history which the audience really has no knowledge of."

Emmerdale has yet to reveal who Thea's father is, with Claire recently suggesting that there are a couple of possible options from Kim's past.

Discussing the unresolved mysteries, Sophie added: "The audience has got so many questions right now! As the story evolves, we're absolutely going to be answering those and there’ll be some surprises along the way as well."
