Enzo Maresca reveals Erling Haaland injury latest in new Man City update before Liverpool clash
Haaland has been an ever-present for Man City in the Premier League so far this season, starting all five games and scoring five goals, including winners against Coventry and Manchester United.
The in-form forward also netted in all three meetings against Liverpool last season, perhaps most notably a stoppage-time penalty in the corresponding fixture in February when Man City came from behind to win.
Hopes of a repeating that win and securing just a only a fourth league victory at Anfield since 1981 have been boosted after Maresca revealed Haaland is ready for the big showdown.
Asked for an update on the striker in Friday morning’s pre-match press conference, Maresca said: "He's good. He went to Marbella, had two or three days off, played golf. Had some recovery.
“He's ready for Anfield. He's good, the players are thinking: international teams, some days off and go again. He was good."

Maresca is well aware of the hostile atmosphere that awaits his players, but believes the squad will not be fazed.
He added: "It will be a tough game for sure, tough test. We need to be ready. The focus has to be the game, but we know the environment in Anfield is nice. It will probably be even worse because of the situation.
“It will be our duty to do our best and win the game. Absolutely we can face the pressure. We have players who played in a similar situation. Enzo Fernandez played in Argentina, it's always every game like going to Anfield. It's not a problem."
