CMS Grammar School alumni target N50m ICT suite
The 1976/81 set of the Old Grammarians Society of CMS Grammar School, Lagos, has set a target to raise N50m to upgrade and equip an ICT suite at its alma mater.
The fundraising is part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the set, holding from October 8 to October 11.
According to the Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations Planning Committee, Kayode Olu-Martins, in a statement on Thursday, the “anniversary legacy project” is aimed at supporting ICT education and strengthening the alma mater’s capacity to prepare students for the future.
Olu-Martins said the set was raising funds to sponsor a classroom in the Tola Adebonojo ICT Building, an initiative of OGS Americas.
Sunday’s celebratory luncheon and fundraiser will be chaired by a retired Justice of the Supreme Court, Bode Rhodes-Vivour.
The building honours Prof Tola Adebonojo, Grand Patron of the Old Grammarians Society in the Americas and UK/Europe.

Olu-Martins added that the anniversary was an opportunity for members to celebrate their enduring friendship and give back to the school.
“This milestone is an opportunity to celebrate the school that nurtured us and helped shape the men we have become. Beyond the reunion, we want to leave a lasting legacy that will benefit generations of students,” he said.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday, October 8, with a meet-and-greet reception, followed by a visit to the school at noon on Friday, October 9.
On Saturday, October 10, members will embark on a sightseeing and relaxation trip to the historic city of Abeokuta.
The activities will culminate on Sunday, October 11, with a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos, followed by the celebratory luncheon and fundraiser.
