Coronation Street airs aftermath of Eva Price accident and Sam Blakeman panic in early ITVX release

It's been an explosive end to the week in Coronation Street, following a horrific accident for Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).

She was suffering with a cold, and had closed the Rovers Return so that she could spend the rest of the day trying to recover. After Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) helped her tidy away the empties, she went down to the cellar to grab some boxes of crisps.

Suddenly, upstairs, a noise was heard. It was Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) raiding through the boozer in search of his phone, which had been confiscated by dad Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).

He was spooked to see his auntie, and rushing past, knocked her down the cellar steps. Instead of getting help, he just stood over her lifeless body.

In today's episode, he was terrified to think that he may have killed her. Eva let out a painful groan, and upon realising that she was alive, rushed out.

He darted past a confused Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney), who was wandering the streets alone in search of her son Carl (Jonathan Howard). Believing that she could be the right person to accidentally stumble over Eva's situation and call an ambulance, he sent her in the direction of the pub.

Debbie wandered in, and rushed down the staircase upon hearing Eva's noises. She ran outside to shout for help, though after being knocked into by a group of lads and running into the Underworld staff, she'd forgotten what was happening.

Carla Connor-Swain (Alison King) guided her back to her flat, while Eva continued to lie helpless on the ground.

Later, Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) called into work to see how her boss was getting on. She noticed that the pub had been trashed, unaware that this was Sam, and eventually found Eva in a state of distress. Glenda called the ambulance, something which was noticed by Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan).

He told wife Debbie what he'd saw, and suddenly she remembered what she'd seen earlier.

Will Eva be OK, and will Sam confess to his actions?
