With colder weather settling in, it’s the season for chilly offices, drafty bedrooms and the annual fight over the thermostat. A personal space heater is one of the easiest fixes, and right now Walmart has the compact Amumu Portable Space Heater on sale for just $25. It’s a 1200-watt ceramic heater that blows warm air within seconds, and it runs at about 48 decibels, so it’s quiet enough for an office or a bedroom at night. Here’s what to know before you buy it.

This compact 1200W ceramic heater that starts blowing warm air in about two seconds, so you aren’t left waiting to thaw out. It has two heat settings, 800W and 1200W, so you can choose a gentle warmth or a stronger blast. It also runs at a quiet 48 decibels, which makes it easy to use while you work, study, or sleep.

Its small footprint makes it a great fit for the office, where high air conditioning or drafty halls can leave you shivering year round. It’s small enough to tuck under a desk or on top of it and light enough to carry from room to room. A wide, stable base keeps it steady and if it does get knocked over, the built-in tip-over switch shuts it off automatically, and overheat protection adds a second layer of safety. With a flame-retardant frame, a metal mesh front, and 87 percent markdown, it’s one of the best (and affordable) ways to stay warm all season.
