Blue-door home from the film ‘Notting Hill’ up for sale

The iconic house that was featured in the film once belonged to screenwriter Richard Curtis, who is best known for his work on projects like ‘Love Actually’ and ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral.’ Curtis’ eccentric property with contrasting walls of white against the blue door was used as the front entrance for Thacker’s home throughout the movie, while the interior shots were mainly filmed in a separate studio that was created for the movie. In 2024, Curtis also opened up about filming in front of the door and how his home was featured in the movie completely by chance. While talking to ‘The Jess Cagle Show,' he shared that production designer Stuart Craig, who was in charge of creating and setting up the set for ‘Notting Hill,' had himself suggested his home as the location for the film, though no one in the team realized beforehand that it was Curtis’ home. He recalled the moment, sharing, “We had a big meeting with him, and we said, ‘Find the house.

'" So he went out for two days and came back with one Polaroid, and I said, ‘Oh yeah, very funny.’ He said, ‘What do you mean?’ and I said, ‘Well, that’s my house,’ and he said, ‘No, that’s gotta be the house.’ So it was, in fact.”
