Welcome to the ABC Sport F1 live blog

By Michael Doyle

Bom dia — good morning, Australia.

Welcome back to ABC Sport's live digital coverage of the 2026 Formula 1 season.

The drivers' championship has been sealed, but there is still plenty to race for in the final four rounds of this year's Formula 1 world championship.

Some drivers need good results to convince their teams of keeping them next season, all teams are desperately trying to score points to finish as high as they can in the constructors' standings — and earn more prize money.

Oscar Piastri starts this morning's grand prix from 10th, while his McLaren teammate Lando Norris is on pole position.
