Is Max Dowman in FC 27? Situation explained

Max Dowman is an incredible young talent, but is he in FC 27?

The Arsenal starlet had a breakout season last year, earning himself a Premier League title at the age of just 16.

He's a wonderkid by every metric, but what's the story with him and FC 27? Here's what you need to know.

Max Dowman does not feature in FC 27 at launch.

EA has an unwritten rule that states that players under the age of 17 cannot be featured in the game, meaning Dowman falls just below that cut-off point.

Furthermore, licensing agreements with FIFPro mean that only players who have signed professional contracts can be featured in the game.

As Dowman cannot do so until his 17th birthday, EA would not be able to add him, even if they did want to.

You may remember that this same situation occurred several years ago, with a then 16-year-old Barcelona gem Lamine Yamal unable to be featured in the game, despite his starring role for club and country.

But that's not the end of the story.

Max Dowman turns 17 on 31 December 2026, just before the beginning of the January transfer window, a time when EA Sports typically releases a big update to the game's database.

Should Dowman sign a professional contract with Arsenal around this time – it would be a surprise if he didn't – then that would make him eligible to be added to the game.

And with EA always happy to throw another young talent into the player pool for Career Mode saves, we wouldn't be surprised to see Max Dowman in the game by the end of the season.
