‘Days of Our Lives’ star Robert Kelker-Kelly dead at 62

Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor best known for playing Bo Brady on the long-running daytime soap opera "Days of Our Lives," has died. He was 62.

Kelker-Kelly died Oct. 3, a Missouri medical examiner's office told Fox News Digital.

Local police said officers were dispatched at approximately 8:16 p.m. that day after receiving a report that Kelker-Kelly was unconscious and not breathing.

"Our officers arrived on scene along with the St. Charles County Ambulance District, and life-saving measures were administered but were unsuccessful," police told Fox News Digital.

"There was nothing suspicious noted at the scene," police noted. "Mr. Kelly had reportedly complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive, and the circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event."

Police said Kelker-Kelly’s body was released by the medical examiner to a local funeral home.

An official cause of death has not been disclosed.

Born April 18, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas, Kelker-Kelly built a career spanning several of daytime television’s most recognizable shows.

He originated the role of Sam Fowler on "Another World" in 1987 and later returned to the soap opera to play other roles, including Bobby Reno and Dr. Shane Roberts.

Kelker-Kelly became widely known to "Days of Our Lives" viewers when he took over the role of Bo Brady in 1992, replacing original portrayer Peter Reckell. He remained with the soap opera until 1995.

His work on the show earned him the 1994 Soap Opera Digest Award for outstanding lead actor. He also shared the 1995 hottest soap couple honor with Lisa Rinna.

He later joined the cast of "General Hospital," where he played the villainous Stavros Cassadine from 2001 to 2003 before returning to the role in 2013 and 2014.

In addition to acting, Kelker-Kelly was a professional pilot.

He was married to Linda Rattner from 1988 to 1992 and later married actress Miriam Parrish. Their marriage lasted from 1997 until 2013.
