Mawra Hocane welcomes son; actor shares hospital video

Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane, best known for 'Sanam Teri Kasam', surprised her fans by announcing the birth of her son with husband Ameer Gilani. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Syed Azmar Hussain Kamal Gilani.

Mawra took to X to share the joyous news with her followers, posting a hospital video that gave a peek at their newborn son and Ameer. The clip showed Ameer whispering the Azaan into his baby’s ears, in keeping with the Muslim tradition of welcoming a newborn. The couple also revealed their son’s name along with the announcement video.

The actress also shared the meaning behind her son’s name, Syed Azmar Hussain Kamal Gilani.

According to her caption, Azmar means lion, and she described him as “the king of our jungle, our pride, our littlest most precious treasure.” Congratulatory messages and good wishes poured in for the couple as soon as they announced the news on social media.

Mawra and Ameer exchanged vows last year on February 25 in a traditional Muslim ceremony. The pair have also collaborated on screen in a number of Pakistani TV dramas.

Meanwhile, Mawra debuted in Bollywood in 2016 with the romantic drama 'Sanam Teri Kasam', co-starring Harshvardhan Rane. The film saw a modest run when it first hit theatres, but it built a loyal fan base over time.
