CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — The 10th Infantry Division (10ID) has bolstered its frontliners for the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Comprehensive Archipelagic Defense Operations (CADO), welcoming 28 newly assigned second lieutenants to reinforce its officer corps in territorial defense and external security operations.

The new officers formally joined the division on Monday during a flag-raising ceremony at Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Davao de Oro, where Maj. Gen. Alvin Luzon, 10ID commander, led the donning of the unit patch to mark their integration.

“The 10ID welcome the 28 newly assigned officers as they join the ranks of the Agila Division and contribute to the Army’s mandate and the CADO,” Maj. Ruben Gadut, 10ID Public Affairs Office Chief, told the Inquirer on the phone Tuesday.

For his part, Luzon urged the young leaders to anchor their service on the division’s AGILA mantra — Accountability, Growth, Integrity, Loyalty, and Achievement through Excellence — pointing out that these key principles must translate into disciplined leadership and professional competence as the Army expands its external defense posture.

In the same ceremony, 10ID also formally welcomed Col. Ruben Aquino as the newly designated assistant division commander for reservist and retiree affairs.

Upon receiving the10ID patch, he took charge of strengthening the Reserve Force and integrating reservists and retired personnel into the republic’s national defense framework./coa
