Highlander fans are understandably frothing at the mouth for any news about when Henry Cavill’s highly anticipated Highlander reboot will be released. For now, estimates suggest the movie will likely arrive in late 2027 or early 2028, though even that has yet to be officially confirmed. However, while fans wait, they have several new Highlander releases to look forward to ahead of Cavill’s reboot, and we’ve just received confirmation of the second installment's official release date.
Fans of the original Highlander are going to be on cloud nine starting this December, thanks to the announcement of a new four-part adaptation of the original screenplay written by Highlander creator Gregory Widen. Back in September, we confirmed that Highlander: The Original Screenplay #1 would launch on December 16, 2026, kicking off what Titan Comics promises will be a lavishly illustrated comic telling the story of “the immortal Connor MacLeod as he lives through the centuries, facing off against rivals for the mysterious prize.”
This adaptation offers the best of both worlds, drawing directly from Widen's original screenplay while presenting the story in a way fans have never seen before. Now we also have an early preview of Highlander: The Original Screenplay #2, including a first look at the issue's cover art, an official synopsis, a confirmed release date, and new details about the upcoming hardcover edition that collects all four issues in one place.
Everything We Know About The Upcoming Highlander Releases (So Far)
Main Cover by Robert Hack for Highlander: The Original Screenplay #2 (2027)
Titans Comics has revealed that Highlander: The Original Screenplay #2, written by Gregory Widen and featuring art by Szymon Kudrański, will be available to purchase for $4.99 on January 6, 2027. This 32-page issue will feature a main cover by artist Robert Hack, along with various variant covers from a top-tier lineup of creatives, including Lee Binding and Szymon Kudrański, as well as a poster variant cover.
The official synopsis for this issue reads: “Knight Moves! A mysterious stranger known as Ramírez arrives and begins training Connor as the young highlander discovers more about himself. His training is put to use in the present day as Connor's skills are tested during a second explosive encounter with the Knight! Highlander creator Gregory Widen's adaptation of his original screenplay continues in a centuries-spanning epic second installment!”

Also worth noting is that while the release dates for issues #3 and #4 have yet to be revealed, Titan Comics has already announced when fans can expect the hardcover graphic novel collecting Highlander: The Original Screenplay #1-4: July 27, 2027. Given that Henry Cavill's Highlander reboot is expected to arrive in late 2027 at the earliest, this complete graphic novel will likely hit shelves well before Cavill's era as Connor MacLeod begins, making it the perfect read to help tide fans over. With these upcoming releases on the horizon, it's clear that 2027 is already shaping up to be an unforgettable year for Highlander fans.
The hardcover graphic novel will be available to purchase for $26.99.
Highlander: The Original Screenplay #2 from Titan Comics will be available to read on January 6, 2027!
