Ghana XI vs Gambia: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for AFCON qualifier

Carlos Queiroz will today rotate his Ghana side to face Gambia after the Black Stars rolled over in defeat to Ivory Coast last week.

Malcik Yalcouye and Frank Kessie were both on target as Les Elephants breezed past a toothless Ghana last time out, leaving Queiroz with some tricky questions to answer.

Ghana were unthreatening in attack, managing just two shots on target with Antoine Semenyo out with an injury, and patchy at the back.

One positive from the match, though, is that they came through the match without suffering any new injuries, though the absences of Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew are, of course, unhelpful.

As such, plenty of changes have been mooted as the Black Stars prepare to return to action, hosting Gambia in Accra.

Abdul Fatawu is thought to be on the chopping block after he conceded a penalty against Ivory Coast, while Christopher Bonsu Baah was hooked early and may struggle to keep his place in the XI.

Benjamin Tetteh and Augustine Boakye were their respective replacements, and both can expect to start here. Rockson Yeboah of Osasuna is also a contender.

Jonas Adjetey and Ibrahim Sulemana both came off the bench, too, and perhaps were in with a shout to start against Ivory Coast.

They will expect promotions as Queiroz looks to shore up his defence. Lawrence Ati-Zigi is unchallenged as the Black Stars’ No1 ‘keeper and will keep his place.
