San Beda Alabang campus declared safe after alleged threat

MANILA, Philippines — The San Beda College Alabang campus in Muntinlupa City was declared safe and clear following an alleged threat, the Southern Police District (SPD) confirmed on Wednesday.

In a statement, the SPD explained that the school administration and the Muntinlupa City Police Station conducted security sweeps, facility inspections and verification procedures after an “unverified safety concern” prompted them to suspend face-to-face classes.

“Based on the security assessment conducted, no verified or imminent threat was established, and the campus was declared safe and clear,” the police noted.

It further detailed that the school administration had since announced the resumption of regular on-campus activities starting Thursday.

“Appropriate security measures and continuous monitoring remain in place. Police visibility and coordination with the school administration will also be maintained to help ensure the safety of the entire campus community,” the SPD said.

The police further encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any possible threats to school authorities, the nearest police station or through the 911 emergency hotline.

“We likewise urge everyone to refrain from sharing unverified information that may cause unnecessary fear, confusion, or disruption,” the SPD stressed. /gsg
