Britney Spears' Son Jayden James Speaks Out After Runway Milestone
For Jayden James Federline, life can feel just like a circus.
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's youngest son shared a rare glimpse into what it's really like having one of the most influential pop stars of a generation as his mom.
"It feels like I always have something to prove," Jayden told Interview magazine in an interview published Sept. 23, "even though I don't need to prove anything."
In fact, he emphasized that seeking that kind of approval is overrated. As he put it, "The more you try to please others, the more you lose yourself."
Although he knows that prying eyes are simply a part of having famous parents—who also share 21-year-old son Sean Preston Federline—the 20-year-old revealed what he doesn't want more of.
"Questions with assumptions," he reflected. "I'd rather people get to know me rather than assume they already do."
Indeed, Jayden is no stranger to feeling the weight of speculations surrounding his family. Most recently, he addressed a "clone theory" about his mom floating online, which he called "ridiculous."
"I hop on TikTok and everyone on TikTok—I see this one video that has 1.2 million likes, and the caption is like, 'The biggest theory ever: Is Britney Spears still alive?'" he said during a July livestream reposted on social media. "Like, bro, you can go to her page and see her right now."
He admitted he was surprised how easily rumors can be exaggerated or fabricated.
"People know how gullible people are," he said, "and they use that to their advantage. Anyone that sees it, they just see it and if it has a lot of likes, they believe it. They don't even research it. They're just, 'Wow, yeah, it's crazy. I believe it, though.'"

However, Jayden does understand that the "Gimme More" singer—whose 13-year-old court-ordered conservatorship ended in 2021 after an extensive legal battle—does have a huge fanbase.
"Everyone is a really huge fan of my mom and everything and all that stuff. I kind of get it, but," he added, "don't overthink it. It's not as complicated as it seems. It's literally right there in front of you."
