New York Comic Con 2026 is nearly over, and both DC Comics and Marvel Comics’ futures are looking brighter than they have in a while, especially for our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Indeed, Spider-Man’s slate beyond The Amazing Spider-Man’s milestone issue #1000 had been rather uncertain, and the web-slinger’s dedicated panel has shed a ton of light on what readers can expect going into 2027.

NYCC 2026’s Midnight Marvel Comics panel had fans leaving with an early copy of Midnight Spider-Man #2 and mild teases for what’s to come in all three Midnight universe books that launched simultaneously on October 7. But that’s only the beginning. Spider-Man will reportedly soon be enjoying Marvel Comics’ Star Wars crossover, for instance, and fans who adore the Spider-Verse have a lot to look forward to once the new year begins.

spider-man noir 2027

As per NYCC 2026’s Marvel Comics: The Spider-Web panel, and shared thereafter by the official Marvel website, Spider-Man’s slate is packed. Here, a few new series were announced, including:

  • Spider-Punk, a new comic series from writer Cody Ziglar and artist Justin Mason. Spider-Punk #1 scheduled to be released on January 20, 2027.
  • Marvel SFX: THWIP, a new anthology series from writers Jed MacKay, Stephen Graham Jones, and Rainbow Rowell, and artists Lucas Werneck and Alessandro Cappuccio, “with a focus on the iconic sound effects from Marvel Comics.” Marvel SFX: THWIP #1 is scheduled to be released on January 27, 2027.
  • Spider-Man: Noir, a new comic series from writer Alex Segura and artist Farid Karami. Spider-Man: Noir #1 is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2027.
amazing spider-man miles morales crisis of faith

Plus, Marvel Comics teases a crossover event between Bryan Hill’s Miles Morales: Spider-Man and Joe Kelly’s The Amazing Spider-Man, dubbed “Crisis of Faith,” slated for April 2027. The event storyline’s promotional artwork by Ryan Stegman proposes that Miles Morales and Peter Parker will be at each other’s throats in tattered costumes, and editor Nick Lowe explains why tensions may be bubbling:

“Peter has been getting more and more risky with his choices since Hellgate punched him into space. Some of those will get uncovered and Miles is not pleased. But Miles has been keeping some strange and questionable company of late that Peter does not approve of. That, however, is just the tip of the iceberg and Joe Kelly and Bryan Edward Hill are cooking up some MAGIC on this crossover.”

All of these series, as well as Midnight Spider-Man’s novel horror tale, bode well for the wall-crawler, imbuing the character with much-needed series diversity. The repercussions of the controversial “One More Day” storyline may not be retconned, but Spider-Man will be embarking on a new journey as an Avenger in a month, and “Crisis of Faith” will hopefully result in interesting storytelling choices being made for both Peter and Miles.
