Russian tourist expelled, banned from Vietnam for reckless motorcycle stunts

A 35-year-old Russian woman has been permanently deported from Vietnam after repeatedly riding a high-powered motorcycle without protective gear and performing dangerous stunts across Khanh Hoa Province.

Khanh Hoa Police announced that they partnered with the Cam Ranh International Airport Border Gate Police and specialized units to complete the deportation procedures for Nikitina Iuliia last week.

Iuliia had previously been ordered to pay a VND30 million ($1,200) fine alongside a permanent expulsion order for "disturbing public order."

According to a July 24 ruling by the Khanh Hoa Region 2 People's Court, Iuliia committed multiple traffic violations between January and June last year on public roads in the Cam Lam and Nam Cam Ranh districts, 30-60 km from resort town Nha Trang.

Investigators found that on several occasions, she knelt on the seat of her large-displacement motorbike with no protective equipment while riding through traffic.

Footage of the dangerous maneuvers was filmed and circulated widely across social media platforms, drawing public backlash. Authorities noted that the videos "tarnished local traffic safety standards and disrupted public order."

Police took Iuliia into custody last December once the stunt clips began spreading online. During questioning, she admitted to the violations.

Khanh Hoa authorities emphasized that enforcing Iuliia's deportation highlights the obligation of all foreign visitors to respect and comply with Vietnamese law.

Officials added that strict penalties help maintain regional security, promote a safe and orderly travel environment, and protect Nha Trang's standing as an attractive, welcoming destination for domestic and international travelers alike.
