The Pokémon Trading Card Game has had some truly memorable sets across its 30-year run. Most recently, the TCG released its 30th Celebration set, celebrating the three-decade milestone. And the Pokémon TCG shows no signs of slowing down either, as Delta Reign will be releasing next month, and we already have an inkling of what to expect in 2027.

One of the bigger surprises, however, is that January's set will be the first of its kind. Considering we've gotten all kinds of collections since the '90s, it's a pretty impressive feat that Pokémon is still giving us something new. According to PokeBeach, a brand-new set will release on January 27, 2027. Known as the "Pokémon TCG Valentine's Box," it will be the first time we've ever gotten a Valentine's Day-themed set of cards.

The new Pokémon TCG set will have a box with 20 mini booster packs themed around Valentine's Day. Each mini booster pack will contain three Pokémon cards and five sticker sheets. Adding to this theme is the fact that the box can transform into a little mailbox, as a way to accept valentines from others. No images of the product have been shown off yet, but from what PokeBeach has shared, the new set sounds pretty adorable.

As PokeBeach noted, this sounds a lot like the Trick or Trade sets that were released for Halloween in previous years. Whereas those functioned like candy, these will seemingly be used in the place of Valentine's Day cards. It's certainly a fun idea, and it's one that the Pokémon TCG has never done before.

Right now, there's also no information on how many cards are a part of the Pokémon TCG Valentine's Box set, but considering how the company has treated past holidays like Christmas and Halloween, there will be likely be somewhere between 30 and 50 cards in total to collect. As with the Halloween Trick Or Trade sets, the cards in the Pokémon TCG Valentine's Box sets will likely be reprints with some kind of special stamp.

I'm assuming we'll see cards of heart-themed Pokémon like Luvdisc, as well as cutesy ones based on sweets like Alcremie, flowers like Roselia, as well as romantic-themed ones like Aromatisse and Enamorus. Of course, no new Pokémon Trading Card Game set would be complete without a Pikachu card or two, and the same goes for Eevee. More information regarding the upcoming set should arrive ahead of its release on January 27.
