Mohun Bagan is still in hunt for its first Calcutta Football League title since 2018 before it enters the final round of Super Six fixtures in the 2026 edition.
The Mariners, which have 30 titles to their name, were held to a 1-1 draw by United SC on Monday.
As of now, Mohun Bagan tops the standings with four points, same as Mohammedan SC. But the Mariners are ahead on goal difference.
Both the teams will face each other in their final fixture of the Super Six stage.
The equation is straightforward for Mohun Bagan: beat Mohammedan and lift the CFL trophy.
A draw, however, will put Mohun Bagan’s chances hinging on other fixtures. East Bengal, which currently has two points, can reach a maximum of five points as well. Meanwhile, Bhawanipore can reach six points from its remaining two games.
