Travis Kelce expected questions about the Kansas City Chiefs when he stepped out in public. He did not expect gratitude. On the October 21 episode of New Heights, the tight end told his brother Jason Kelce that strangers regularly stop him on the street to say thanks, and the reason has little to do with touchdowns. It has to do with Taylor Swift, the living room and a shared Sunday routine. The Chiefs are 5-0 heading into Week 7. Kelce says those unplanned street conversations are the moments that stick with him the most now.

Jason Kelce asked how much the Kansas City Chiefs fanbase has grown since Travis began dating Swift. Travis skipped the numbers and talked about the people he meets.

"I have a lot more people coming up to me expressing their stories of them and their daughters having a moment of watching football together"

Then he described who those people are.

"The majority of the people that come up to me that talk football (are) just off the street, so I get a lot of thanks for that, which is pretty cool. I didn't have that one on the card when I started dating Tay, let alone ask her to marry me. But it's pretty cool to see the influx of Chiefs fans"

Jason has heard the same stories. He told Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson that messages from dads and daughters rank among the best parts of his week. Their mother, Donna Kelce, has said she loves seeing more young women and girls follow the game since Swift began showing up at Chiefs games.

Swift attended her first Chiefs game on September 24, 2023, when Kansas City beat the Chicago Bears. That Sunday, Fanatics ranked Kelce among the NFL's top five jersey sellers, with sales up nearly 400%. A month later, NBC Sports reported that teen girl viewership jumped 53% for the Chiefs and New York Jets game she attended.

Public opinion followed. A Marist Poll found that 70% of Americans see Swift as a mostly positive force for the league. She also joined a crowd that was already large. The Harris Poll puts women at 46% of the NFL fanbase, and the league has made girls' and women's flag football a core growth project.

The couple married on July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with Adam Sandler officiating.

Kelce, meanwhile, has produced on the field. He has 20 catches on 27 targets for 299 yards and two touchdowns through five games, good for 15 yards a catch. The Chiefs visit the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on Sunday.
